After many months at a dealer KTM's 690 guru admitted there is a flaw in the throttle body due to a plastic gear that wears away around 3-4 thousand miles. Nothing will remedy the failures except a throttle body replacement with a now new metal gear. Affects all 2008-2011 690's. Hopefully you get a response from someone that does own one.
